Structural response of submarine pipeline impacted by falling objects

摘要:

With the development of subsea oil and gas resources, numerous submarine pipelines are constructed, and the safety and structural integrity of submarine pipelines becomes extraordinary important. In practice, the submarine pipeline is vulnerable to the third party damage such as anchor and falling objects. As a result, there will be dents on the pipeline after impact. The influence of falling object velocity, diameter and shape, pipeline buried depth, corrosion area, depth and type on dent are studied through the finite element method. The results can be referred during the integrity assessment of the submarine pipeline.
