Study of three-dimensional reticulated filtration control agent formed by condensation of A-151 in long-lasting, ultra-high-temperature-resistant, salt-resistant, and filtration-loss-reducing

摘要:With the continuous development of drilling well depth, the drilling process often faces high-temperature and high-salt formations. In this environment, drilling fluids can fail, leading to complex downhole problems like excessive filtration loss and hole destabilization. To address these issues, a new polymer filtration control agent, AASDD, was synthesized through free radical polymerization. The raw materials used were Acrylamide, Sodium p-styrenesulfonate, Diallyl dimethyl ammonium chloride, and Vinyltriethoxysilane (A-151), with Divinylbenzene as the crosslinking agent. The optimal molar ratio for these components was 9.26:1.92:2.45:1.66:1.00. The performance and fluid loss mechanism of this new polymer were evaluated through various tests, including fluid loss tests, salt resistance tests, and analyses using SEM and TEM. The results confirmed that the three-dimensional structure of AASDD adsorbs bentonite through ionic and covalent bonds, resulting in superior temperature and salt resistance compared to conventional structures. Specifically, the bentonite slurry containing 1.5 % AASDD exhibited an API filtration loss of only 8 mL after aging at 260°C for 16 h. Additionally, the bentonite slurry with 1 % AASDD showed an HTHP loss of 30 mL at 210°C, whereas the bentonite slurry without AASDD experienced total fluid loss. At the same time, bentonite paste with 1.5 % AASDD demonstrated resistance to ultrahigh temperatures of 210 °C for more than three days and withstood saturated Na salt and over 6 % Ca salt.
