A quantitative simulation method for temporal and spatial evolution of bacterial plugging in sandstone reservoirs during water-flooding
摘要:Water flooding is one of the most important techniques for increasing oil production, but the sulfate reducing bacteria and saprophytic bacteria in the injected water can prolife rate in the formation under suitable conditions, blocking the pore throats of the reservoir, and causing the reservoir permeability and water injection to decrease greatly. In this study, a comprehensive analysis of the factors affecting the bacterial plugging was conducted, and a numerical simulation study of the bacterial plugging in sandstone reservoirs during water flooding was carried out based on the theory of heat and mass transfer in porous media. The orthogonal grid difference and five-point implicit methods were used for numerical solutions to obtain the spatial distributions of the bacterial quantity, nutrient quality and the degree of reservoir damage in different periods, and the quantitative simulation of spatial and temporal evolution of bacterial damage to the reservoirs was realized. The results show that bacterial damage to the reservoirs during water injection mostly occurs in the area of 2-3 m near the wellbore, and the permeability of the reservoirs can be reduced by more than 90% under favorable bacterial growth conditions. Reservoir temperature and water injection rate are the main factors affecting the bacteria damage of to the reservoir. Lowering water and reservoir temperature can facilitate the reproduction of bacteria and increase reservoir damage while increasing water injection rate can be beneficial to reduce the reservoir damage. ? 2022 University of Petroleum, China.
