Design and characterization of subsea pipeline rehabilitation connectors

摘要:This paper examined the technology for repairing deep water pipelines and designed a new type of subsea pipeline repair connector for a depth of 1500 m with a diameter of 12 inches. The technical specifications of subsea pipeline repair connectors and the characteristics of deepwater environments were used to propose an overall design plan. Static analysis, elastic mechanics theory, and finite element simulation were used to analyze contact stress distribution on the main rubber sealing ring surface. A mathematical relationship was evident between the axial driving force and positive anchoring pressure. A mechanical model was established for the free and constrained deformation stages of the rubber sealing ring and the relationship between the sealing driving force and contact stress. The structure was optimized using the contact stress distribution law. The anchoring and sealing performance of the designed connector were analyzed and optimized. ? 2023
