Construction of hydrophilic hydroxyl-rich porous organic polymers for efficient removal of heavy metal ions

摘要:The introduction of efficient adsorption sites and enhancement of the hydrophilicity of the adsorbents are important to adsorb metal ions in aqueous media. Here, four hydrophilic and hydroxyl-rich porous organic polymers (POPs) were designed and synthesized with di- and tri-hydroxybenzene as building blocks via FriedelCrafts alkylation reaction. The interconversion of enols and ketones in the skeleton enhanced the stability of POPs and provided abundant metal binding sites. Among them, the polymers constructed by catechol and phloroglucinol showed great adsorption capacity of Hg2+ (380.23 mg & BULL;g ? 1 and 382.18 mg & BULL;g ? 1), good selectivity and cycle stability. This study provided an effective method to construct POPs as adsorbents of metals ions.
