Optimization on delivery schedules of a multiproduct pipeline based on the oil-demand mode
摘要:Multiproduct pipelines can simultaneously convey several products by a "back-to-back" way. Drafting batch schedules is an important part of operating and managing a multiproduct pipeline. Using computers to automatically optimize batch schedules is significant to improve the level and efficiency of managing multiproduct pipelines. The difficultly in modeling for optimizing batch schedules of a multiproduct pipeline is how to describe batch movements in pipelines and satisfy processing constraints. Aiming at optimizing the delivery schedule of a single-source and multi-depot multiproduct pipeline based on the oil-demand mode, this paper has established a mixed-integer linear programming model using the discrete-time representation, so as to achieve the overall highest stability of pumping rates in all pipeline segments. The constraints on batch tracking, pumping rates of pipeline segments, injection operations performed by initial station, delivering operations implemented by intermediate and terminal stations, and product demands are all satisfied in the proposed model. For improving the practicability of optimization results, two types of constraints are introduced. The first type is that any intermediate station can not only carry out side-stream delivery operations, but also perform full-stream delivery operations. The second type is that if an intermediate station downloads product from a batch in two successive time intervals by side-stream delivery operations, the delivery rates should be consistent, in order to lessen the workload of operators. Taking the historical transportation task of a certain multiproduct pipeline as an example, the optimal solution of the model is successfully obtained using software CPLEX, which verifies the practicability of the proposed model.
